Our Approach to Fees
At Mainely Therapy, we value making mental health care as accessible as possible. We recognize that cost can be a barrier—and we are committed to reducing that burden where we can. At the same time, we are a small practice with licensed professionals who are doing meaningful, emotionally demanding work. We strive to balance these truths: offering thoughtful, quality care while also sustaining the livelihood of the therapists providing it. We offer a range of fees and are happy to talk with you about what might be possible.

- Initial Assessment: $200
- Individual Therapy (55–60 min): $160
- Individual Therapy (45 min): $140

Shannon Hayes, LCPC-C
Conditionally Licensed Clinician
- Initial Assessment: $125
- Individual: $80.00
- Couples: $125
- Location: Kennebunk, Maine
- Telehealth Available in: Maine, Texas, and Virginia
- Sliding scale options may be available on a case-by-case basis. Please inquire if cost is a barrier to care.
Payment & Insurance
We value lowering barriers to mental health support and understand the financial stress therapy can create. Additional sliding scale options may be available on a case-by-case basis. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to discuss what might be possible.
We currently accept the following insurance plans:
Anthem BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, UBH/Harvard Pilgrim, Tufts, Martin’s Point, and Point32Health.
Fees are due at the time of service and can be paid by cash, check, debit/credit card, FSA, or HSA.
Good Faith Estimate Notice
In accordance with the No Surprises Act, clients who do not have insurance or who choose not to use insurance are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) outlining the expected costs of their care.
You have the right to receive a GFE before services begin. If your bill is at least $400 more than the estimate, you may dispute the charges.
