Hello! I’ve been working as a therapist since 2004 and as a clinical supervisor since 2009. You can find more information about my education, training, and work experience here.
In my practice, I firmly embrace the values of curiosity, empathy, and cultural humility. I am dedicated to working with individuals aged 16 and above, honoring the rich variety of identities, cultures, and personal histories they bring to the table.
My passion is to provide a supportive guiding hand to emerging and young adults as they journey through an incredibly transformative stage of life. This diverse group includes those in college, graduate programs, and those taking their first steps into their professional careers. Emerging adulthood is a time filled with endless possibilities and often accompanied by a significant number of expectations, personal desires, and societal pressures. It’s a period that’s both exhilarating and challenging.
However, my dedication to supporting individuals in their personal growth extends well beyond these years. I am genuinely committed to assisting adults of all ages because the quest for self-discovery and navigating life’s changes are universal experiences. No matter where you are in life’s journey, please know that I am here to listen and help you move forward with compassion and deep understanding.
I have experience addressing a wide range of issues faced by adults, including emerging adulthood, identity formation, existential questions, mental illness, stress, interpersonal difficulties, shame, grief, racial and social justice issues, LGBTQIA+ challenges, adjusting to new circumstances, family conflicts, parenting, and health issues. I am dedicated to supporting survivors of various traumas and aim to ensure that everyone feels seen, heard, and supported in our therapeutic relationship.
I acknowledge the significance of power and privilege in our interactions and strive to be aware of potential marginalizing experiences. My experiences in urban and rural settings have provided me with diverse perspectives and enriched my understanding of personal struggles.
On a personal note, I am originally from Maine but lived in Philadelphia for several years before returning. I cherish my time in both the city and nature. I have a passion for reading, although I tend to accumulate more books than I have time to read. I am married, a mother, and enjoy nature, snowboarding, and the perpetual learning process of surfing. Like everyone else, I am an imperfect human being.
