Somatic Reparenting
A way to reconnect and heal by returning back to yourself.
Somatic Reparenting Method™
Jessica Browne, LCSW is certified in the Somatic Reparenting Method™, developed by Dr. Somer Nicole, and integrates this work through a relational, trauma-sensitive, and nervous-system informed therapeutic approach.
What is Somatic Reparenting?
I think of Somatic Reparenting as a way of reconnecting with yourself through nervous system awareness, emotional healing, relational repair, and deeper compassion for the parts of ourselves shaped by earlier experiences.
Somatic Reparenting is a gentle, body-centered therapeutic approach designed to support reconnection with oneself through nervous system awareness, emotional healing, relational repair, and compassionate attention to the parts of ourselves shaped by earlier experiences.
This work recognizes that many emotional patterns are held not only in thought, but also within the body, nervous system, relationships, and survival responses developed over time. By integrating somatic practices with reparenting-oriented and relational healing work, Somatic Reparenting can help individuals develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, internal safety, self-compassion, resilience, and deeper connection with themselves and others.
Who is Somatic Reparenting For?
The Somatic Reparenting Method™is ideal for those who:
- are navigating unresolved trauma, attachment wounds, or shame
- feel disconnected from their emotions or body
- struggle with self-criticism or feel stuck in old patterns or beliefs
- seek a more embodied approach to healing
How Somatic Reparenting Can Help
Somatic Reparenting is not about becoming someone entirely new. It is often about reconnecting with ourselves more deeply by:
- learning to listen to the body
- understand our emotional responses with greater clarity
- honor the ways we adapted over time
- regain access to the parts of ourselves that may have become buried beneath survival, protection, or disconnection
What to Expect in a Session
Somatic Reparenting sessions are intentionally offered in extended 90–120 minute formats to allow greater space for nervous system settling, emotional processing, embodiment, reflection, and relational repair work that can feel difficult to access within shorter therapy sessions. Somatic Reparenting sessions are tailored to your needs and preferences, whether you choose an individual or group format.
Sessions can be held in person or via telehealth. Each session may include:
- mindfulness and grounding exercises
- exploration of early experiences and their impact on the present
- reparenting exercises to nurture your inner child
- tools for self-regulation and emotional resilience
