I identify as a white, cisgender, heterosexual female and use she/her pronouns. While naming this may not resonate with everyone, I recognize that it matters deeply to those for whom it does.

Meet Jessica Browne, LCSW, MLSP

My approach is honest, human, and rooted in care.

Hello! I’ve been working as a therapist since 2004 and as a clinical supervisor since 2009. I’m also the founder and lead clinician at Mainely Therapy — a practice grounded in relational, trauma-informed care. You can find more information about my education, training, and work experience here.

I lead with curiosity, empathy, and cultural humility. I approach therapy as a space that resists harmful norms and centers your truth, your voice, and your pace—rather than imposing rigid systems. I believe therapy should be accessible, collaborative, and grounded in a deep respect for your lived experience.

While I have a appreciation for the transformative nature of emerging adulthood—and have spent years supporting individuals through college, career starts, and identity exploration—my work extends well beyond these years.

I support people through a wide range of experiences—strengthening sense of self, anxiety, depression, shame, grief, trauma, relationship and family struggles, somatic re-parenting, caregiving, health concerns, and moments of deep transition or disconnection. I also work with those asking bigger questions about meaning, purpose, or what it means to feel at home in their lives and bodies.

I hold space for individuals across many identities and life stages—including those who are LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, or healing from systemic and relational trauma. Whether you’re facing something new or trying to make sense of something long held, therapy with me is a space for curiosity, care, and respect for your truth.

I recognize how power, privilege, and identity shape our experiences in the world—and in the therapy room. I strive to create a space where we can name these dynamics with care and honesty.
Together, we may explore where harm has occurred—personally, relationally, or systemically—and where there might be room for repair. Whether it’s reclaiming your sense of agency, finding your voice, or simply beginning to feel safe in your own story, I will meet you with curiosity and care. My work in both urban and rural communities has deepened my understanding of personal struggle and resilience across different contexts, and I carry those lessons with me into every session.

On a personal note, I’m originally from Maine, though I spent several years living in Philadelphia and still appreciate the blend of city rhythm and time in nature. I’m a mother, a wife, and someone who learns best through lived experience.

I founded Mainely Therapy with the belief that mental health support should be thoughtful, accessible, and rooted in meaningful connection. As the practice expands, I continue to work directly with clients while also supporting the next generation of clinicians through mentorship and supervision.

I love snowboarding, the slow and humbling art of surfing, and collecting more books than I’ll ever finish. Like anyone else, I’m a work in progress—and I try to bring that humility with me into the therapy space and beyond.
